Future Leaders in the audience
The audience immediately after my talk

On friday evening, June 1st, 2012, I gave a talk at the 2012 AHEC Future Leaders in Healthcare Conference at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. The audience consisted primarily of outstanding high school students in North Carolina. The title of my talk was “Working Culturally and Collectively Together: Solving and Eliminating Ethnic Health and Health Disparities Now!” Although my talk focused on health disparities, it really highlighted strategies that students can use to overcome obstacles in college and how to become a successful professional.

I truly enjoyed talking to the high school students because they were very engaging, knowledgeable, and ready to learn. Here are a few photos of the audience.
