Research Presentation at the AIHce 2019

Today, I presented our published research titled “Assessment of Occupational Exposure to Heat Stress and Solar Ultraviolet Radiation among Groundskeepers in an Eastern North Carolina University Setting” during the 2019 American Industrial Hygiene Conference and Exposition (AIHce) held in Minneapolis, MN from May 20-22, 2019. Information in this presentation was derived from our journal article published in the Journal of Environmental and Occupational Hygiene in 2016 as follows:

Beck N, Balanay JG and Johnson T (2018). Assessment of Occupational Exposure to Heat Stress and Solar Ultraviolet Radiation among Groundskeepers in an Eastern North Carolina University Setting. Journal of Occupational and Environmental Hygiene 15(2): 105-116. doi: 10.1080/15459624.2017.1392530

Danielle Carter, a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) Environmental and Occupational Health Concentration (EOH) student and my student advisee, attended with me and presented a research poster titled “Risk Assessment and Recommendations for Forester Exposure to Hymenoptera”.  Her poster was selected by the Communication and Training Methods Committee (one of the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) Volunteer Groups) as a Best Student Poster. She received a certificate and $100 award. Danielle was recognized for her accomplishment at the “Mark of Excellence Breakfast” ceremony held today in the Minneapolis Convention Center.
