Our Respirator Research Featured by ECU News Services

Our recent article on respirators and face coverings, with Dr. Sinan Sousan (ECU Department of Public Health faculty) and Omar Chaaban (ECU Honors College graduate), was featured by the ECU News Services team. Both Dr. Sousan and I were interviewed about the findings of our research, which showed that N95 respirators offer much greater protection against catching COVID-19 and other airborne infections compared to reusable cloth face coverings. We also found that, of the tested KN95 respirators, only 2 out of 5 provided 95% or better filtration. The results of our study were published in the American Journal of Infection Control.
