I am pleased to share that I, together with my ECU collaborators, Dr. Sinan Sousan (Department of Public Health) and Dr. Carlyle Rogers (Director, Office of Licensing and Commercialization), was featured in the East Magazine, Winter 2025 for the new AIHA Heat Stress App. Our team worked with the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) and software development company Dualboot Partners to develop the app, which was launched in July 2024. The AIHA Heat Stress App calculates the wet-bulb-globe temperature (WBGT) and converts it to a heat stress risk level. The app is a useful tool for workers exposed to extreme heat, as well as their supervisors, to manage their heat stress risk.
