Redesigned Foreign Languages and Literatures Placement Survey
- Collaborated with ITCS to migrate the Placement Survey to Canvas, integrating it with the university’s degree program management system.
- Enabled auto-enrollment and direct data synchronization using existing resources.
- Saved the department approximately $2,500 per semester.
Digital Buenos Aires Project
- Co-taught study abroad students in Buenos Aires, focusing on digital humanities and artifact creation. Guided students in producing an interactive digital map showcasing their work.
- Delivered workshops on ADA compliance, digital design, and best practices, emphasizing inclusivity and accessibility in digital media.
- Co-mentored three student groups whose projects won Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity Awards and were featured at conferences, including the Southeastern Council of Latin American Studies (SECOLAS) in Guatemala with full funding.
- Co-authored the article “Fostering Learner Engagement in Study Abroad Contexts: The Digital Buenos Aires Mapping Project” published in Innovation in Language Learning and Teaching by Routledge.
- Presented the project at two international conferences and one national conference.
Foreign Languages & Literatures Website Redesign
Spearheaded the overhaul of the department’s website, enhancing user experience and accessibility while aligning with the university’s digital strategy.
Pirate Nation Gives Outreach
- Partnered with the Dean’s Office to develop and implement social media content for the 2024 and 2025 Pirate Nation Gives campaigns.
- In 2024, these efforts directly facilitated funding for seven students without passports to receive full financial support, enabling their participation in Foreign Languages and Literatures Study Abroad Programs.
- In 2025, the campaign drove remarkable engagement, with Harriot College of Arts and Sciences achieving the highest donor count among all ECU colleges—319 donors—reflecting the success of strategic outreach initiatives.
Covid-19 Device Roll-Out
- Imaged and configured over 100 computers within one month, ensuring a seamless transition to remote learning during the pandemic.
- Maintained an up-to-date inventory of deployed devices, streamlining asset management and minimizing downtime.
- Provided remote training and support to faculty, facilitating efficient adoption of new technology in virtual environments.
