Blog post #2 – 7/28/2016
Well, we made it! From first airplane to last airplane, it took about 36 hours (from Norfolk to Auckland). Overall it wasn’t that bad. We tried to sleep as much as we could, but let’s face it: we were not in first class, so we were a little tired and were all in bed by 9 pm last night.
We are staying at a cute house in Pokeno, NZ. Most of the places we are staying at are through Airbnb (sort of like VRBO). We did it this way so that we would have houses with kitchens and several bedrooms so everyone could get good sleep.
This was a cool pic from airplane monitor – flying over equator and International Date Line.

It is really hard to keep up with the time changes. We arrived in Auckland, New Zealand, around 5:00 pm local time on Thursday. Yes, I know it is about 5:15 pm Thursday in NC right about now, but in NZ it is 9:15 am Friday. This may be hard to keep up with. We actually flew to Sydney, which is 2 hours behind NZ, then flew to NZ, 2 hours ahead. My head is spinning, so I will just look at my current watch from now on.

Just a few more pictures traveling. After today I can hopefully have more scenic pictures.
Hope all is well on the other side of the world!
